Think the Lake market is Dead?… Think Again!

As time continues to fly by, our Summer has ended and Fall is here.  A break from the endless heat we have had is much needed, although that does not mean a break in Real Estate at the Lake.  Many people think that after Labor Day the Real Estate activity at the Lake completely slows down, when actually it is doing the opposite.  We are still seeing an increase in the number of phone and Internet leads, and buyers are definitely still out looking for those good Fall buys.  So, if you are thinking of listing your home, don’t wait for Spring and miss out on the wave of activity this Fall.

The high-end market has seen a pick up over the last year.  According to our MLS, from January 1, 2010 to August 30, 2010, 33 lakefront homes sold between $500,000 to $1,000,000.  There were 6 lakefront homes sold in the $1,000,000+ price range.  Year-to-date, there are 45 closed and pending lakefront homes between $500,000 to $1,000,000 and 14 lakefront homes closed and pending priced $1,000,000+.  Out of the 59 homes, a RE/MAX Lake of the Ozarks agent was involved in selling 41 of them.  Krantz and Associates agents alone were involved in selling 20% of the 59 lakefront homes over $500,000!  The number of homes sold in the one-million plus price range has already doubled from last year’s numbers and there is still a full quarter left!

If you hear that the Lake market is dead, please know that is far from the truth and we have the numbers to prove it.  Whether you are thinking of buying or selling, now is the time to get involved in the Fall Market at the Lake.  Please contact me for more information.  I would love to help you.
